Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Sauli Niinistö, President of the Republic of Finland

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Sauli Niinistö, President of the Republic of Finland. The Secretary-General and the President discussed the ongoing reform efforts to make the United Nations more nimble, effective and flexible.
 
The Secretary-General thanked Finland for its leadership on mediation.
 
The Secretary-General and the President also discussed the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The Secretary-General commended Finland for making climate change and sustainable development priorities of its Chairmanship of the Arctic Council.
They also exchanged views on the ongoing efforts to address sexual exploitation and abuse.
