On the Ministerial Committee on Darfur

The Secretary-General welcomes and supports the establishment of the Ministerial Committee on Darfur under the joint chairmanship of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Amr Moussa, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission Jean Ping, which will carry out its work in close collaboration with the African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator, Djibril Bassolé.
