Readout of the Secretary General’s meeting with H.E Paul Kagamé, President of the Republic of Rwanda

The Secretary-General met today with H.E Paul Kagamé, President of the Republic of Rwanda. The Secretary-General expressed concern regarding the deterioration of the situation in Burundi and examined the security and humanitarian consequences of this crisis with the President.

The Secretary-General also commended Rwanda’s role in the advancement of the climate change agenda and strong commitment to the sustainable development goals.
