Readout for the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Ricardo Patiño Aroca, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Integration of the Republic of Ecuador

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Ricardo Patiño Aroca, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Integration of the Republic of Ecuador.

They discussed global issues, including climate change and the Ebola virus disease, and regional issues, including the upcoming inauguration of the new UNASUR Headquarters in Quito.

The Secretary-General acknowledged Ecuador’s successful experience with poverty reduction and encouraged the country’s continued engagement in helping to define the post-2015 development agenda.
