Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Mr. Ivo Josipovic, President of the Republic of Croatia

The Secretary-General met today in Paris with Mr. Ivo Josipovic, President of the Republic of Croatia.

The Secretary-General congratulated the Government and people of Croatia on their new membership to the European Union. He encouraged Croatia to share its experience with neighbouring countries who also wish to join the EU.

The Secretary-General and Mr. Josipovic also discussed the situation in the Western Balkans as well as Croatia's role as Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission.
