Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

The Secretary-General met today with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The Secretary-General and the Minister for Foreign Affairs discussed a number of regional issues, including the Government of Ethiopia’s contribution to peace and security initiatives in the Horn of Africa, especially its continued engagement to stabilize the situation in Somalia.  The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation for Ethiopia’s efforts to support mediation between Sudan and South Sudan.
