The Secretary-General spoke today with President Kagame of Rwanda and with the Foreign Minister of the DRC, Mr. Raymond Tshibanda, following the outbreak of renewed hostilities between Government forces and M23 rebels in eastern DRC.

The Secretary-General expressed his concern over the renewed fighting between M23 and the Armed Forces of the DRC that is contributing to a worsening security and humanitarian situation.

He discussed ways to find a sustainable solution to the current crisis.
