Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with President of Ukraine

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine, on the sidelines of the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit.  The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on nuclear safety and security, and also on the Chernobyl nuclear site.   The Secretary-General took the opportunity to express appreciation for Ukraine’s contributions to United Nations peacekeeping operations, particularly its supply of helicopters in critical locations.
