Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E Mr. Carlos Gomes Júnior, Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau

The Secretary-General met today with Prime Minister Carlos Gomes Júnior of Guinea-Bissau. The Secretary-General acknowledged the efforts made by the Government of Guinea-Bissau to implement the Priority Plan for Peacebuilding and to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. The discussions also touched upon the reform efforts being made by Guinea-Bissau in the defence, security and justice sectors, as well as to combat drug trafficking and to ensure inclusive national dialogue.
