Our concern regarding Venezuela is more present than ever.

The international community and myself wish for peace and democracy for Venezuela. 

A national dialogue is urgently needed in Venezuela between the Government and the opposition to achieve two major objectives: the eradication of violence, abuses and fanaticism; and the preservation of an agreed constitutional path. 

There will not be a solution if it is imposed. The way out is through an agreement, elections and respect for fundamental rights and constitutional powers. The way out must be found by Venezuelans alone, and the international community must support peaceful outcomes based on political dialogue. Only a political solution can restore hope to Venezuela.

Nuestra preocupación está más presente que nunca sobre Venezuela.

La paz y la democracia en ese país son mi deseo y el de la comunidad internacional.

Es urgente una concertación nacional entre gobierno y oposición con dos grandes objetivos: erradicar la violencia, los abusos, el fanatismo, y preservar un camino constitucional concertado. 

No habrá solución si se pretende imponer una salida. La salida es el acuerdo, con elecciones, respeto a los derechos fundamentales y respeto a los poderes constitucionales. La salida debe ser únicamente entre venezolanos, y la comunidad internacional de apoyar los caminos pacíficos y de concertación política. Solo la política permitirá que vuelva la esperanza a Venezuela.
