The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. The Secretary-General and the President discussed the situation in the Sahel, recognising the dire impact of any further political destabilisation in the region. They also discussed the challenges of climate change and migration, and Mauritania’s efforts toward the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Le Secrétaire général et le Président ont discuté de la situation au Sahel, reconnaissant l’impact terrible de toute nouvelle déstabilisation politique dans la région.
