The Secretary-General met today with His Majesty Mohammed VI of Morocco. He thanked His Majesty for his warm welcome and congratulated him on the success of the 9th Global Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations, which concluded today in Fez. The Secretary-General expressed his deep appreciation for His Majesty’s personal commitment to the promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.

The Secretary-General and His Majesty discussed the situation in the region and, in particular, in Western Sahara.

The Secretary-General commended Morocco’s contribution to the work of the Organisation, including through the deployment of peacekeepers, as well as its leadership in support of Our Common Agenda.

Le Secrétaire général s’est entretenu avec Sa Majesté Mohammed VI, Roi du Maroc. Il a remercié Sa Majesté pour son accueil chaleureux et l’a félicité pour le succès du 9e Forum mondial de l’Alliance des civilisations, qui s’est achevé aujourd’hui à Fès. Le Secrétaire général a exprimé sa profonde gratitude pour l'engagement personnel de Sa Majesté en faveur de la promotion du dialogue interreligieux et interculturel.

Le Secrétaire général et Sa Majesté ont discuté de la situation dans la région et, en particulier, au Sahara Occidental. 

Le Secrétaire général a salué la contribution du Maroc au travail des Nations Unies, notamment par le déploiement de casques bleus, ainsi que son leadership en appui à Notre programme commun.
