The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan.  The Secretary-General discussed with the Prime Minister the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the issue of Japanese nationals abducted to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
 
The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Japan’s support to the work of the Organisation. Prime Minister Abe extended support for the reform agenda of the Secretary-General and discussed the issue of Security Council reform.
