The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. José Ulisses Correia e Silva, Prime Minister, and Minister for Reform of the Republic of Cabo Verde. The Secretary-General commended Cabo Verde for its active and constructive engagement in advancing ambitious ocean-related multilateral efforts as well its strong leadership in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

They also discussed the adverse effects of climate change and energy shocks, particularly for SIDS.
