Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Ahmet Davutoglu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey

The Secretary-General met today in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, with H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister exchanged views on the developments taking place in Turkey and in the region. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the situations in Syria and Iraq, including international efforts to combat the threat posed by ISIL. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also exchanged views on the Cyprus talks, and Iraq. The Secretary-General thanked Turkey for hosting the upcoming World Humanitarian Summit, which will take place in May 2016 in Istanbul.
