The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, on the margins of the 69th General Assembly.

The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to Japan for its strong partnership with the United Nations and its contributions to the Organization’s work for the promotion of peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed major global concerns, such as climate change and the Ebola virus, as well as the post-2015 development agenda.
