Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Sergey V. Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Sergey V. Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.  The Secretary-General underscored the need to find a political solution to the long-standing conflict in Syria and alleviate the immense human suffering.  They also discussed the implications of the crisis on other countries in the region, including Lebanon.
