Readout of the Secretary-General's telephone conversation with Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak

The Secretary-General spoke by telephone today with H.E. Mr. Ehud Barak, the Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Israel.

The Secretary-General said he was encouraged that the Gaza ceasefire was holding and urged Israel to do its part to ensure that the steps are taken to make the ceasefire sustainable.
