Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin
The President of the General Assembly H.E. Philemon Yang met with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, on March 13, 2025.
The President of the General Assembly and the Secretary-General discussed the importance of the work of United Nations specialized agencies, including the International Telecommunication Union, to ensure that critical international cooperation is sustained for the well-being of all people, not least in the digital field.
They also discussed the evolving digital and communication technology landscape, including Artificial Intelligence, and the importance of mitigating risks without undermining innovation. They expressed their commitment to continued collaboration to better adapt to current challenges.
