Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with H.E. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the Organisation Internationale la Francophonie
H.E. Philémon Yang, the President of the General Assembly, met with H.E. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. The President of the General Assembly and the Secretary General discussed about ways and means to promote multilingualism in the United Nations.
They further discussed potential areas of cooperation between La Francophonie and the United Nations, including the Office of the President of the General Assembly, to surmount some of the practical and cultural obstacles to multilingualism in the United Nations.
