Statement attributable to the Spokesperson of the President of the General Assembly

The President of the General Assembly is deeply concerned by reports of two waves of exploding devices in Lebanon, leaving about 37 killed and thousands injured.

The President calls for immediate de-escalation and on the parties to urgently cease hostilities, to fully implement Security Council resolution 1701 and to abide by their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
