In accordance with General Assembly resolution 78/189 of 19 December 2023, President General Assembly H.E Dennis Francis will convene a high-level event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the outcome document of the high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples.
The high-level event will be held on Wednesday, 17 April 2024 at 3 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall, at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York.
The high-level event will be open to representatives of Indigenous Peoples accredited to the twenty-third session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
In line with past practice, the high-level event will include statements by Member States and representatives of the seven socio-cultural regions of Indigenous Peoples.
