Toni-Shae Freckleton serves as senior adviser and deputy team lead on sustainable development on issues related to the Second Committee, the High-Level Political Forum, climate change and biodiversity in the Office of the President of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Toni-Shae served as senior adviser and Team Leader for Sustainable Development and liaison to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). She led on the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the High-Level Political Forum (SDG Summit).

Toni-Shae is a Jamaican career public servant since 2003. As Director of Population and Health at the Planning Institute of Jamaica, her portfolio covered issues such as population and development, social development, health, international migration, modernization of the civil registration and vital statistics system and the Sustainable Development Goals. She served as Presiding Officer for Jamaica to the Regional Conference on Population and Development for Latin America and the Caribbean since 2015.

Toni-Shae also had oversight responsibility for Jamaica’s coordination mechanism for the 2030 Agenda and led the national process for the first Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the High-Level Political Forum in 2018.

Toni-Shae holds a B.Sc in Sociology and Demography and a M.Sc in Sociology (Demography option) from the University of the West Indies, Mona in Jamaica.
