Nevena Toaso, a national of Serbia, is the deputy team leader for communications. She served  in the 73rd session of the General Assembly and was responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the communication strategy and associated products and activities.

Nevena joins the team from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), where she has spent the last 10 years working across communications, focusing on strategy development, internal communication, strategic planning and operations.  Previously, Nevena worked in marketing and public relations, managing a wide range of client portfolios and industries, including non-profit organizations, travel and tourism, and technology.

Nevena holds a dual Bachelors Degree in Communication and Psychology from Macalester College, and a Masters of Science in International Affairs from The New School University.
