Woo-jung Han
Woo-jung Han is a Senior Adviser on Peace and Security for the President of the General Assembly.
A career diplomat from the Republic of Korea, she served at the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2012-2014), where she was a member of the Security Council Team during her country’s latest term as non-permanent member. She also served at the Korean Embassies in Fiji (2014-2016) and the Russian Federation (2016-2017).
She held different positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul, including as Director of the United Nation Division (2019-2020) and Adviser to the Minister (2017-2019). She also served in the Humanitarian Assistance Division, Human Rights and Social Affairs Division, and International Security Policy Division at the Ministry.
She holds a B.S. in Architecture from Seoul National University in Korea and an M.A. in East Asian Regional Studies from Columbia University in New York City.
