Tomorrow at 3 PM in the ECOSOC Chamber there will be a briefing and informal interactive discussion with Members of the G77 and China. The President of the General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will emphasize the importance of multilateralism and the role of the Group.
Mr. Muhammad-Bande will talk about his priorities which are anchored in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially Quality Education which is central to the development of all societies.
Morning Dialogues
On Friday, 8 November, the President of the General Assembly will start convening a series of Morning Dialogues. The Dialogues were first introduced during the 72nd session of the General Assembly pursuant to resolution 72/313 of 17 September 2017 on the “revitalization of the work of the General Assembly.”
The Morning Dialogues are informal discussions focused on issues of concern to the United Nations. They aim at promoting genuine dialogue that seeks solutions and provides ideas for concrete action.
The first of the series will be on “Inclusive Quality Education and Lifelong Learning”. The President of the General Assembly believes that Education plays a central role in building sustainable, inclusive and resilient societies.
All the dialogues will be by invitation only and held under Chatham House rules.
Paris Trip
The President of the 74th Session of the General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will be traveling to Paris, France on November 10 to attend the Paris Peace Forum, the General Conference of UNESCO and the Conference of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
On Tuesday November 12, Mr. Muhammad-Bande will participate in a High-Level Panel on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations along with Heads of State and Government.
On the same day he will deliver an address to the Ministerial Steering Committee on Sustainable Development Goal-Education 2030.
