READOUT: meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus

The President of the General Assembly, Mr Tijjani MUHAMMAD-BANDE, met today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Mr Andrei DAPKIUNAS. The two leaders had a lively discussion about the historical role of the UN as the convening forum for resolving conflicts between nations since World War II. This is all the more timely as we approach the commemorations of the 75^th anniversary of the UN, when a greater sense of responsibility is needed to tackle world challenges.
