The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, met today with H.E. Mr. Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro. They discussed human rights; the global compact on safe, orderly and regular migration; the Western Balkans; and other multilateral issues.
The President of the General Assembly stressed the importance of maintaining momentum on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and thanked Montenegro for presenting a voluntary national review in that regard. He also explained the priorities of his presidency, focusing on conflict prevention, preventive diplomacy and mediation. He stressed the importance of integrational processes in the Western Balkans.
