Address at the 104th plenary meeting of the General Assembly (resumed)

– As delivered –

Statement by H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, at the 104th plenary meeting of the General Assembly (resumed)

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge your hard work and dedication.

This second resumed session of the Fifth Committee handeled an unprecedentedly heavy and very important agenda.

You have shown the ability to tackle complex issues and exercised the spirit of compromise and flexibility to reach consensual outcomes. And you have done so through many long days and nights. Your hard work, often well into the late night and early morning hours is more than admirable.

You have helped strengthening multilateralism and equipping the United Nations with the necessary tools to better deliver its work.

You should all be very proud. Thank you and congratulations!
