Sharifa Al-Nesf is an Adviser to the President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Sharifa is a Qatari career diplomat. Before joining the office, she served as a Second Secretary in the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, covering a wide range of issues related to international peace and security, counter-terrorism and violent extremism, transparency and anti-corruption, Responsibility to Protect, sustainable development, education, and protection of culture and heritage, as well as issues related to the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
Additionally, she worked as an adviser in the International Organizations and Specialized Agencies section covering United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Health Organization (WHO), International Civil Aviation Organization, Global Counter Terrorism Forum, Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund.
Sharifa also attended the main part of the 67th session of the General Assembly, from September to December 2012, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar in New York.
She holds a bachelor degree in International Affairs from Qatar University and passed the International Diplomacy Course from the Leadership Center in The Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies in London in 2016.
Sharifa speaks Arabic, English and and some basic French.
