UN General Assembly President Mr. Mogens Lykketoft today met with Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos, EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs in Berlaymont, the headquarters of the Commission in Brussels, Belgium on the first day of his two day visit to Belgium.
At the top of the agenda was the current refugee crisis in Europe, migration and upcoming thematic debates at the UN General Assembly.
The meeting with Mr. Avramopoulos, was the first on the agenda of a series of meetings of Mr. Lykketoft, who in the next two days will meet Mr. Juncker, the EU Commission President, Ms. Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Mr. Schulz, the European Parliament President and several EU Commissioners.
