Statement on incident near Mecca attributable to the Spokesperson for H.E. Mogens Lykketoft, the President of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly
United Nations, Thursday, 24 September 2015 — Further to the tragic events in Mina, the President of the UN General Assembly extends his heartfelt condolences to the families and communities affected by the tragedy at the Hajj pilgrimage. He expresses his sympathies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to all affected countries. He also extends his best wishes for a quick recovery to those injured. At this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with them all and with those who are assisting in rescue and medical operations.
