The President met with the Turkish Ambassador Yasar Halit Cevik to discuss a Turkish proposal to put the very serious migrant situation in the Mediterranean Ocean, in the neighbouring countries and in Europe on the Agenda of the General Assembly. In his speech to the General Assembly the President already expressed his concern about the humanitarian situation as a result of the year-long war in Syria.
