SECOND SESSION OF THE AD HOC COMMITTEE ON A COMPREHENSIVE AND INTEGRAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION ON PROTECTION AND PROMOTION OF THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

  2. Election of a new member of the Bureau.
  3. Adoption of the agenda.
  4. Organization of work.
  5. Review of progress in the elaboration of a comprehensive and integral international convention on the protection and promotion of the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities:
    1. Views of Governments and relevant organizations and bodies of the United Nations system on the proposed convention;
    2. Global policy review of issues and trends related to the advancement of persons with disabilities;
    3. Outcomes of technical meetings and seminars;
    4. Elements to be considered in the proposals for a convention submitted by the regional commissions of the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations.
  6. Panel discussions on priority themes.
  7. Debate on the contributions to proposals for a convention, including:
    1. Nature and structure;
    2. Elements to be considered;
    3. Follow-up and monitoring;
    4. Complementarity between a new instrument and existing instruments.
  8. Next steps in the consideration of a convention.
  9. Adoption of the report of the Committee on its second session.
