The Division for Social Policy and Development is part of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). It seeks to strengthen international cooperation for social development with particular attention to poverty eradication, employment generation and social integration, especially with due regard to issues relating to older persons, persons with disabilities, family, youth, persons in situations of conflict and indigenous peoples. Youth at the United Nations
The United Nations International Youth Day, 12 August 2008. The Theme this year is: "Youth and Climate Change: Time for Action".

UNPFII
The International Day of the World´s Indigenous People will be observed at the United Nations Headquarters on Friday 8 August 2008 in the Dag Hammarskjöld Auditorium, from 10:00 to 13:00.

International Day of Cooperatives
The United Nations International Day of Cooperatives, 5 July 2008. The Theme this year is: "Confronting Climate Change through Cooperative Enterprise".

Stamps: Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
