Third GA High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development
The High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development was held from 23 to 25 October 2007 at UN Headquarters in New York, in compliance with GA resolution 61/191.In the same resolution, the General Assembly also decided that the modalities for holding the 2007 High-level Dialogue will be the same as those used in the 2005 High-level Dialogue, as described in General Assembly resolution 59/293 of 27 May 2005.

Informal Hearings of the Business Sector on Financing for Development

A recurring theme throughout the Monterrey Consensus is the need to foster a dynamic and well-functioning business sector in developing countries. In preparation for the High-level Dialogue of 23-25 October 2007, and the follow-up International Conference on Financing for Development to review the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus to be held in Doha, Qatar, at the end of 2008, the Financing for Development Office held these Informal Hearings with the Business Sector to promote a sincere and free discussion of ideas between representatives of the business sector and representatives of the UN Member States, to further the interaction between them in the benefit of the financing for development process.
