Stakeholder Workstreams

Stakeholder workstreams imageThe Addis Ababa Action Agenda, adopted at the 2015 Third International Conference on Financing for Development, calls for the engagement of local authorities, civil society, academia and the private sector to achieve effective follow-up to the financing for development outcomes and all the means of implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (para 130).

In line with this mandate and responding to the demand and interest from various stakeholders, the Financing for Development Office has launched “Stakeholder workstreams” that focus on selected issues from the Addis Agenda and will provide substantive input to the ECOSOC forum on Financing for Development follow-up.

  • Workstream on “Strengthening Municipal Finance in LDCs”  has been launched in close collaboration with UNCDF and local authorities.
  • Workstream on “Exploring Public-Private Interfaces” has been initiated by the CSO FfD Group.
  • Workstream on “SDG Investing (SDGI)” has been initiated with the Division for Sustainable Development  in collaboration with a wide range of business sector representatives.

The stakeholder work streams build on the rich programme of multi-stakeholder consultations carried out in follow-up to the Monterrey and Doha Conferences.
