Redwan Ahmed from Bangladesh was a Fellow in the 2021 Reham Al-Farra (RAF) Memorial Journalism virtual programme. A freelance journalist, he has extensively reported on the Rohingya refugee crisis, human rights violations, and domestic elections for several international outlets. He was awarded the 22nd Human Rights Press Awards for his Rohingya coverage for Agence France-Presse. His investigations for The Guardian exposed the exploitation of Bangladeshi garment factory workers. Redwan co-founded a journalists' alliance, Bangladeshi Journalists in International Media, which is committed to safety, skill enhancement, and well-being of fellow journalists across the country. With a keen interest in the work of UN, Redwan aims to cover the implementation of SDGs, international refugee crises, and regional human rights abuses.
