As the 2025 holiday season approaches, we are reminded that more than 100,000 children—including those with disabilities—reside in homeless shelters, child protective services, and other care facilities across our host city. In partnership with the Staff Union, the Department of Operational Support will uphold its tradition of supporting the New York City Administration for Children’s Services through a holiday gift drive.
This year, we invite staff to contribute by donating:
- Toys (stuffed animals, dolls, cars and trucks, action figures, building blocks)
- NEW Clothing (hats, gloves, scarves, coats, sweaters, socks)
- Gift cards
- Video games
- Journals
- Fancy stationary paper
- Coloring books
- Sporting goods (basketballs, soccer balls, etc.)
- Books (picture books, paperback, etc.)
- Boards games
- Puzzles
- Musical instruments
- Learning electronics
- Arts & Crafts (art supplies, jewellery making kits)
for ages:
- 0 to 5 years
- 5 to 10 years
- 10 and above
Gifts should be new and not be gift-wrapped.
From Tuesday, 18 November until Friday, 12 December 2025, you can drop off your contributions in the hampers located in the staff lobby of the following buildings:
- Secretariat
- DC1 and DC2
