The Codification Division of the Office of Legal Affairs recently added to the Historic Archives of the United Nations Audiovisual Library of International Law two new Introductory Notes: one on the 1953 Convention on the Political Rights of Women, written by Ruth Aura-Odhiambo, Legal Practitioner and Former Dean of Egerton University; and one on the 1968 Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitations to War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity, written by Sandesh Sivakumaran, Professor of International Law at the University of Cambridge.
In 2023, amid the chaos of the war, Adam Ibrahim, a national Humanitarian Affairs Officer, fled with his family. Despite the trauma of their escape, he later returned to help others.
