Since the age of nine, Wantoe has championed the rights of women and children and has been one of Liberia's prime faces for global sustainability and youth development. His leadership capabilities and commitment to solving profound systemic changes are not hidden. He has been a consistent voice in articulating policy reform for the plethora of crises in the global south, with a focus on Liberia. Wantoe has received several awards recognizing his leadership acumen and accomplishments, including the 2020 Friend of Humanity Distinguished Alumni Award from the Friendship Ambassador Foundation (FAF), the Princess Diana Award, and the Vincent De Paul Award from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York, USA. He was recognized in 2018 as a Global Young Voices SDGs Champion Winner and in 2017 as a FAF Humanitarian Impact Winner. In addition, Wantoe is a certified 2019 Obama Foundation Leadership Asset and Dialogue Alumni.
