Patrick Hayford is Director of the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa. He also served as Director for African Affairs at the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (1999-2005), a member of the Commonwealth Observer Mission for South Africa's Second Multiparty Elections (1999) and Ambassador of Ghana to South Africa (1997-1999).
