Margareta Wahlström is Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations. She was Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Assistance to Tsunami-affected Communities and also served as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for reconstruction and institutional development in Afghanistan and Chief of Staff to the Special Representative with the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.
