On 18 July 2025, the General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution on the Secretary‑General’s UN80 Initiative to strengthen and streamline the United Nations system.
On 24 June 2025, Member States were briefed by UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy Guy Ryder on the progress of the UN80 initiative.
