The Secretary-General commends the peaceful holding of the elections in the Central African Republic on 14 February and takes note of the announcement of the provisional results of the Presidential elections. He congratulates presidential candidate Mr. Faustin Archange Touadéra for his victory according to the provisional results. The Secretary-General also extends his appreciation to presidential candidate Mr. Anicet Dologuele for the spirit of statesmanship demonstrated through his concession speech.

The Secretary-General calls on all political leaders and national stakeholders to continue to maintain the constructive atmosphere and for all actors to maintain their commitments in line with the electoral Code of Conduct. The Secretary-General calls on the Transitional Authorities to complete the electoral process through the timely holding of the second round of the legislative elections. The Secretary-General reiterates the commitment of the United Nations to continue providing its full support to the Transitional Authorities to ensure the completion of the political transition process by 31 March.

Le Secrétaire général salue le déroulement pacifique des élections en République centrafricaine  le 14 février et prend note de l’annonce des résultats provisoires des élections présidentielles. Il félicite le candidat M. Faustin Archange Touadéra pour sa victoire selon les résultats provisoires. Le Secrétaire général exprime aussi sa reconnaissance au candidat présidentiel M. Anicet Dologuélé pour sa posture d’homme d’état démontrée au cours de son discours reconnaissant les résultats.

Le Secrétaire général demande à tous les responsables politiques et les parties prenantes nationales de continuer de maintenir cette atmosphère constructive et à tous les acteurs de maintenir leurs engagements conformément au Code de Bonne Conduite. Le Secrétaire general appelle les autorités de transition à finaliser le processus électoral enorganisant le second tour des élections législatives dans le temps imparti. Le Secrétaire général réitère l’engagement continu des Nations Unies à apporter son plein appui aux autorités de transition afin de mener àterme la transition politique d’ici le 31 mars.
