Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark.

The Secretary-General commended Denmark’s strong support to the United Nations, including UN peacekeeping. He also expressed appreciation for Denmark’s leadership role, including through the efforts of the incoming President of the General Assembly, Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, in preparing for the Sustainable Development Summit.

He counted on Denmark’s continued support and leadership for the tasks ahead, including finding consensus on an ambitious climate change agreement before the end of the year and planning for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
