The Secretary-General met today with Ms. Julia Gillard, Chair of Board of Directors of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).

The Secretary-General congratulated Ms. Gillard and the GPE for their successful replenishment conference last year. The Secretary-General and Ms. Gillard agreed on the critical need for consistent and streamlined resources for education, including domestic resources. They also stressed addressing the educational needs of a growing number of refugees and displaced populations throughout the world.
