Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The Secretary General commended Equatorial Guinea for hosting the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2015). They discussed the situation in Equatorial Guinea and exchanged views on regional cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by transnational criminal activities in Central Africa, Boko Haram and maritime insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea.
