The Secretary-General met with H.M. King Felipe VI of Spain, today in Addis Ababa, on the margins of the 24th Summit of the African Union. The Secretary-General thanked His Majesty for Spain’s continued support to the United Nations, particularly to peacekeeping and mediation efforts. They also discussed their joint commitment to inter-faith dialogue.

The Secretary-General and King Felipe VI also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East. The Secretary-General thanked His Majesty for Spain’s continued support to the Western Sahara negotiating process.
