The Secretary-General met today with Mr. Anthony Foxx, Secretary of Transportation; Mr. Michael Huerta, Federal Aviation Association Administrator; and Ms. Bathsheba Crocker, Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs of the United States.
The Secretary-General praised the recent efforts of President Barack Obama and the United States on climate change, noting the key role played by the country in addressing the issue.
He also praised the US Government’s active role in tackling environment challenges posed by the aviation sector and welcomed the Department of Transportation’s initiatives on road safety.
The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of civil aviation in addressing needs around Ebola.
